Hi experts
I tried to help someone out with his Galaxy S6 925i, today. He told me the following:
-The phone at been modified (don't know what) by his cousin
-After "a while" the TOUCHscreen stopped working
-Don't know based on what, but he suspected the problem to be in the kernel
-Factory reset no effect
So I said I tried my best and downloaded the appropriate 6.0.1 stock ROM from Sammobile and flashed it via Odin. No effect. Question here: These ROMs do come with a kernel, do they? So that should have fixed any kernel issue??
So because that didn't work and as you can see I'm not 100% sure about the kernel issue, I tried to follow this procedure to get a new kernel installed:
http://ift.tt/2btShK6
So I flashed the recovery and started it. No TOUCHscreen functionality.
Am I right to assume that I have proven that the touch (un)functionality is NOT a software but a hardware issue? Because the recovery should work no matter how screwed the ROM is?! Cause that person is going to get a screen replacement tomorrow, and if that new screen then doesn't work I'm kinda like screwed...
Another question: Is flashing with 'AP' via Odin the same as flashing via recovery? So could I flash any file that I usually would use the recovery for also flash via Odin? Because if I wanted to flash a new kernel without a working recovery, I would have to use adb (right?). But I can't use adb, because I can't enable USB-debugging, cause the screen's not working...
Thanks heaps for helping out!
